Microsoft Silverlight for Mac OS provides you with the highest quality interactive video experiences both live and on-demand across multiple formats. The PivotViewer is the feature which allows you to interact with a large amount of data on the web. Apr 16, 2018 - If you have an Intel Processor, all versions of Silverlight are supported. But we recommended that you run the latest version so that you can.
My employer has switched to an online payroll system which requires employees to download special software: Microsoft Silverlight so I can view pay stubs and scheduling. My laptop is a PC and apparently already had the software installed. I clicked on the link on the site, entered my user name and password and got in with no problem. The problem is that Silverlight will not work on the Mac.
I can download and install it, but when I try to use it to enter the company site all I get is a blank/white browser window. I've tried Firefox and got the same result. HI, I have Silverlight version 4.0.50401.0 installed on v10.6.4 with Safari 5.0.1 and so far it hasn't caused any problems. One thing to add to 'rkaufmann87's' advice is to repair permissions after you install the plugin. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions.
When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of 'messages' in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, 'Permissions Repair Complete' when it's finished. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. Carolyn 🙂.

I've installed a new version of 'flip-4-mac' which is supposed to have silverlight with it. I also went to silverlight and downloaded it again from Microsoft. I restarted the browser (like the recommends). The site verified that the program is installed correctly, but the problem persists. I'm starting to think its my work's site not being compatible with the Mac.
Can you do me a favor and go to the following site: 'and click on 'My DECO' on the top right. If a message appears saying 'ehub loading' then a light blue window that asks you for a user ID and password, then its working properly. If you get a blank white screen after e-hub loads then nothing. Then its the site and not my Mac. Apple Footer.

Original title: 'Netflix/ Silverlight /Mac problem' When I try to watch a show on Netflix it tells me I need to install silverlight. So I try and install silverlight but my computer will not let me as it says I already have a newer version of silverlight on my computer. I have tried uninstalling silverlight many times. I delete every trace of it (from Internet plugins and receipts etc) however my computer keeps telling me I have a newer version of silverlight on my computer. Also when I try to work Netflix it gives me error code 2015. I took this problem to the genius bar at the Mac store and they were unable to help me. They checked my hardware and made sure everything was up to date and all my software updated.
I also contacted netflix who said to contact Microsoft. They said it was an error with silverlight. When you try to install the Silverlight update are you given any indication of the older version number and the newer version number? Are you trying to install the software while logged in to your Mac as a Standard user?
You might try installing it while logged in as an admin to see if that makes a difference. The Silverlight plug-in software really has just one location. It's in '/Library/Internet Plug-Ins'. You should also delete any receipts for Silverlight in case those are causing problems. While you're still logged in to your Mac as an admin open the Terminal application found in /Applications/Utilities and run this command: pkgutil -pkgs=com.microsoft.office.silverlight.
On my machine I see these results: com.microsoft.office.silverlight.pkg com.microsoft.office.silverlight.pkg.12.1.0.combo com.microsoft.office.silverlight.pkg.12.1.5.combo You can then run this command for each result you see to delete the receipts. This takes care of the first package: sudo pkgutil -forget com.microsoft.office.silverlight.pkg If you receive errors then run this command to manually delete the files: sudo rm /private/var/db/receipts/.silverlight. Restart your Mac and try installing again. The above commands only affect Installer receipts, which have nothing to do with the operation of your software. They are simply reference files that future updaters may use to verify whether you need newer software. Hope this helps!
